Shakespeare Mas is a cultural institution played in the tiny island of Carriacou, Grenada. It is the synthesis of French costume, West African Rhythm, and the soliloquy’s of the Bard. Asher captures the portrait of a young player in full costume. Two players recite Hamlet to each other, and if one makes a mistake, he gets a good lash of a stick from the other. All in good fun.
